Learn how to back up and restore apps, contacts, photos, and data on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

- The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is a 10.1-inch tablet computer designed, developed and marketed by Samsung Electronics.The tablet runs Android 4.1.2 (Android 4.4.1 in Europe) and serves as a platform for multimedia consumption including movies, music, and web browsing. It is the second entry in the Samsung Galaxy Note range, which emphasises the use of a stylus, officially named S-Pen (S standing.

Back up apps
- From the Home screen, tap Apps.
- Tap Settings.
- Select the General tab.
- Tap Backup and reset.
- Set your backup account if you don't have one. It defaults to your Google account.
- Select these check boxes:
- Back up my data
- Automatic restore
Back up contacts
- From the Home screen, tap Contacts.
- If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
- Tap the Menu key.
- Tap Merge accounts.
- Tap the desired option:
- Merge with Google
- Merge with Samsung
- Tap OK.
- If necessary, log in to your Google or Samsung account.
- Follow any additional prompts.
Back up contacts to SD card
- If necessary, insert your SD card.
- From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
- If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
- If necessary, tap the Menu key, tap Contacts to display, and then tap All contacts.
- Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.
- Tap Import / Export.
- Tap Export to SD card.
The pop-up window will display the file name for the contact list. If desired, record the name of the file before tapping OK. - Tap OK.
Back up media & pictures
From device
Note: You must have a SD card installed.
- From any Home screen, tap Apps.
- Tap My Files.
- Tap Device storage.
- Choose one of the following options:
- To copy all of your files, tap the Menu key and then tap Select item then select the items you want to copy.
- Locate the media and picture files you want to back up. To the left of the desired file or folder, tap the check box to select the check box. Repeat as desired.
Note: Pictures and movies captured using the Camera application are stored in the DCIM folder and media may be stored in the Download folder or other folders.
- Tap Copy.
Note: To move the file without duplicating it, tap Move. - Tap SD memory card to enter your external SD card.
- If necessary, navigate to the desired folder.
- Tap Paste here.
Note: If moving the file, tap Move here.
From computer - PC
- Connect USB cable to the device, then to a computer.
Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device to select the check box. - On the computer, click the Open device to view files using Windows Explorer folder or else navigate to and open the device's disk drive and navigate to the desired folder.
- Navigate to the desired files on your device.
Note: The Card icon is your SD card and the othericon is your device's internal storage. - Drag and drop the files into the desired computer folder.
- When finished, safely disconnect the device from the computer.
From computer - Mac
- If necessary, navigate to samsung.com/kies, click DOWNLOAD FOR MAC OS and follow the prompts to download the Samsung Kies software.
- Connect USB cable to the device, then to a computer.
Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tapMedia device to select the check box. - On your computer, open Samsung Kies.
- Inside Kies, click the Back up / restore tab.
- If necessary, click the Backup tab.
- Next to 'Music' and 'Photo,' click the check box to select the check box.
Note: If you would like to back up all of your files, click the check box next to 'Select all items.' - Click Backup.
- When finished, safely disconnect the device from the computer.
Restore apps
- If necessary, log into your Google account.
- From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap the General tab.
- Tap Accounts.
- Tap Google.
- Tap your email address.
- For each desired back up category, make sure the check box is selected. If necessary, tap the category to select the check box.
- Tap Sync now.
Restore contacts
- If necessary, log into your Google or Samsung account.
- From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap the General tab.
- Tap Accounts.
- Tap Google or Samsung.
Note: If you backed up your contacts to your Google account, then tap Google for step 4. If you backed up your contacts to your Samsung account, then tap Samsung for step 4. - Tap your email address at the top of the screen.
- Tap Sync contacts to select the check box. If the check box is already selected, then tap Sync now.
SD card contacts
Samsung Kies Software For Galaxy Note 10.1 128gb
- If necessary, insert your SD card.
- From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
- If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
- Tap the Menu key and then tap Import / Export.
- Tap Import from SD card.
- Tap the account where you want to save the contacts (or example, Google).
If you only have one contact list (vCard file) stored on your SD card, then the contacts will automatically copy now. If you have more then one file, follow these steps:- Tap Import vCard file and then tap OK.
- Tap the desired vCard file where the contacts are stored and then tap OK.
Restore media & pictures
From device
- From any Home screen, tap Apps.
- Tap Samsung.
- Tap My Files.
- Tap All.
- Tap Device storage.
- Locate the folder containing the desired media or pictures.
- Tap the Menu key, tap Select item, and to the left of each desired file or folder, tap the check box to select the check box. Repeat as desired.
- Tap the Menu key and then tap Copy.
- Tap SD memory card to enter your device's internal memory. Navigate to where you want to restore the files.
- Tap Move here.

Samsung Galaxy Note Download Software
- Connect the USB cable to the device, then to a computer.
Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tapMedia device to select the check box. - On the computer, click the Open device to view files using Windows Explorer folder or else navigate to and open the device’s disk drive and navigate to the desired folder.
- Navigate to the desired folder or location on your device.
Note: The Card icon is your SD card and the other icon is your device's internal storage. - Drag and drop the backup files on your computer into the desired folder inside your device.
- When finished, safely disconnect the device from the computer.
From computer - Mac
- Connect the USB cable to the device, then to a computer.
Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device to select the check box. - On your computer, open Samsung Kies.
- Inside Samsung Kies, click the Back up / restore tab.
- If necessary, click the Restore tab.
- Next to 'Music' and 'Photo,' click the check box. If available, click the check boxes next to any other categories you would like to restore.
Note: If you would like to restore all of your files, click the check box next to 'Select all items.' - Click Restore. If necessary, follow any additional prompts.
- When finished, safely disconnect the device from the computer.
