This is what it covers...
- Draw with Pencil on Paper.
- Ink your penciled artwork.
- Scan your artwork at 300 dpi.
- Create a second copy of the artwork at 150 dpi.
- Create a “color” layer just under the artwork (set your artwork layer to “multiply”)
- Color your artwork.
- Delete the artwork layer, and return the color layer to 300dpi
- Open the original 300dpi artwork and paste it above the color layer.
- Flatten the image and save it.
- Import the image into your design software
- Add text and graphics
- Export the final design.

This Flash tutorial requires a working knowledge of Flash’s GUI as well as an understanding of Vector art and manipulating it with the pen and arrow tools. You will need Adobe Flash and in this case, it uses some Vector resources from Go Media’s Vector Packs. Adobe Illustrator is handy for manipulating Vectors but it is not required. You can import most any type of graphic file directly into Flash.

This tutorial you will learn how to take a base logo and add that cool “line gradient” effect that you see inside the actual letters. This gives the text an old-school or vintage feel to it. This look is prevalent in wood engraving and sign lettering. You can do this effect with any typeface or font because the principle is the same.
You will need both Adobe Illustrator CS2 or higher and Adobe Photoshop.

This is a video tutorial on taking vector art and importing it into Cinema 4D to create a 3D object that can be animated, textured, and manipulated in 3D space. This tutorial, written by David from filmmakingcentral.com shows you exactly how to do this. David was nice enough to allow this to be reposted on Gomedia's blog. He is using artwork from the free Vector Sample Pack from our Arsenal.
The tutorial has 17 steps but they go fast once you understand what to do.
This was done using Illustrator CS3, Photoshop CS3, and Maxon Cinema 4D. You can visit adobe.com and maxon.net for demos to follow along if you like. He used one of Go Media’s Arsenal freebie downloads for the vector art.

Ornate Lettering Process
This covers ornate lettering. It’s more of a look behind the scenes. You have to have a solid drawing ability and a good understanding of letterforms, typography, spacing, composition, ect. Also, you also should know your way around Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D Studio Max. It takes a lot of work! It's not a shortcut, It’s good old fashioned hand lettering that’s tweaked and finalized on the computer for a vector final result.
